What Does Open Box Mean?

An open-box item refers to one with an opened box that is often resealed or repackaged by the seller.
It’s worth noting that an open-box product is also just an opened box, meaning the contents inside (the original product) are usually new and unused.

Often an open-box product is a golden opportunity to the customer. You get a brand new product at a discounted rate, all due to the opening – or even just a tear – of the packaging.

Big Box stores experience a significant amount of open box products caused by customers opening products in their stores and leaving them on the shelves with damaged packaging.
Open-box products can also include floor models and returns from customers who changed their mind about the product.
These products are removed from the stores and sent to repacking and inspection centers where they are examined to ensure that no parts are missing. They are then repackaged in plain boxes.

Typically, an open-box product is the exact same new product in a plain box.
